The Directorate of Higher Education Nagaland has introduced a 2nd Phase of Post Matric Scholarship for Nagaland ST Students. This scholarship will be based on MCM (Merit cum Mean Scholarship), under this scholarship all the Schedule Tribe students will be benefited through financial assistance. The financial assistance will help them to pursue their higher education without any financial difficulties. The students who have passed their 10th or currently they are in 11th class will be eligible for this scholarship. The students from class 12th to PhD will be able to take support from this scholarship for their higher education. Objective of Post Matric Scholarship for Nagaland ST Students
The main objective of the scholarship is to help financially unstable students belong to backwards category. Education is the fundamental right of the people in India. However the cost of good quality education is not affordable for everyone in the country. Many students belong to extremely poor families who are unable to bear educational expenses. The government desire to support such students. The aim of the state government behind starting Post Matric Scholarship for Nagaland ST Students is to encourage the students of the state for higher education.

Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant must possess 10th standard examination.
- Applicants must pursue post-matric studies.
- Applicant must belong to the Scheduled Tribe of Nagaland.
- The annual income of the applicant’s family should not exceed Rs. 2.50 lakh.
- Applicant must be studying in an institute which has a valid AISHE/UDISE. codeApplicant has to clear the examination in one time, repeaters are not eligible.
- Applicants who have a study break of more than 2 years are not eligible
- Applicant must not get any other scholarship scheme.
- Applicant must not be an employee of any government/semi-government.
- Students pursuing Diploma/Certificate Courses can also apply.

Application Procedure
Step1: To apply for the scheme, you have to go to the Nagaland Government website of Common Scholarship Portal.
Step2: From home page of the portal, you have to go to the Register option.
Step3: Registration form will open on the screen, enter the details in the application form likewise
