The National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS) exam 2025 has released the application form of exam for the Assam students from class 8th. This NMMS scholarship provide financial assistance to the economically weaker section students who are unable to continue their studies because of financial difficulties, the financial assistance will them to cover their expenses of education. The Assam government has started the application form of NMMS Scholarship Exam on 4th of August, the scholarship will provided on merit bases after exam conduct. Many other states also released the NMMS application form. It is mandatory to fill the application form before the deadline, all the details in the application form should be correct and accurate. If the application form contains any incorrect information, them it will be cancel and candidate unable to appear the exam.
About NMMS Scholarship
The NMMS Scholarship has been launched by the Ministry of Education, Department of School Education and Literacy. The National Merit cum Means Scholarship is great financial support for the students who are not financially strong but have reliance to be educated people to fulfill all their dreams and desires. NMMs scholarship will offer 12,000 per year to the students of class 8th or above from any government school except students of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Navodaya Vidyalaya, non government school and private school are not eligible to fill the application form. The department also started the Awareness Session on National Merit cum Means Scholarship Scheme. It was held in UP districts. The awareness session started for the parents to promote education importance for their children.
- Through this NMMS awareness session the rate of dropout students will decrease and the rate of literacy will increase as all students take privilege of education.

Eligibility Criteria
- Students from class 9th must score at least 55% marks in the previous exam (8th class) to continue the NMMS Scholarship. Students who passed 9th standard will get a scholarship in class 10th as well. Class 10th passed students must score 60% to continue their scholarship in 11th standard. There will be 5% mark concession for the backward category. Students who pass class 11th will get a scholarship in 12th standard.
- Students from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Navodaya Vidyalaya, non-government schools, and residential schools are not eligible.
- Parents annual income should be less than or equal to Rs. 3.5 lakh
