With Merit-cum-Means the authorities launch Free Messing Facility for SC/ST students, basic charges of mess will be provided to SC/ST students. Objective of IIT Bombay Merit cum Means Scholarship
The main objective of IIT Bombay Merit cum Means Scholarship is to help those students come from economically disadvantages background or students who achieve academic success. The scholarship will give financial assistance up to 40,000 and fee waiver. This scholarship help SC/ST students specially with its special program Free Messing Facility in which students get Mess charges from which they free from all expenses and focus on their education and achieve their dream.

The Merit-cum-Merit Scholarship focus on engineering undergraduate students who intake in IIT Bombay and show both strong academic and financial need they will be benefited under this scholarship.
About Free Messing Facility
Under this scholarship the other benefits in IIT Bombay is to provide free messing benefit to undergraduate students. The students belong to Schedule Tribe (ST) and Schedule Caste (SC) categories. Along with free messing facility the authorities will give fee waivers, hostel rent exemptions, and a monthly pocket of Rs.500.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship the students must fulfill following criteria:-
- The Applicant not taking other government or private scholarship.
- The 25% sanctioned undergraduate students get the benefits of this scholarship.
- Student must maintain their SPI and CPI of 6.0 and no backlog to be eligible.
- The annual income of family is less than 5 lakh per annum.
- The students must be intake in Under Graduation program.
- The Applicant must be enrolled in B.Tech, B.S, B.Des and integrated course B.Tech + M.Tech.

Financial Benefits
- The students whose family income up to Rs.1,00,000 will receive financial assistance of Rs.40,000 with Fee Waiver and for Women students will get Rs.10,000 more.
- The students whose family income between Rs.1,00,000 to Rs.3,00,000 will receive Rs.30,000 with Fee Waiver and women same Rs.10,000 extra will be provided.
- Family income up to Rs.5,00,000 will receive Rs.20,000 with Fee exemption and for girls same Rs.10,000 extraa.
- In Free Messing Facility SC/ST Students get free mess, exemption of hostel fess and monthly pocket monety of Rs.500.
